Gabriel Ga·bri·el /ˈɡeɪbriəl/ in the Bible, an archangel who brings messages from God to people on Earth. In art, Gabriel is often shown blowing a trumpet. According to Christian belief, he was sent by God to tell Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus.
