Tolpuddle Martyrs Tol·pud·dle Mar·tyrs /ˌtɒlpʌdl ˈmɑːtəz $ ˌtɑːlpʌdl ˈmɑːrtərz/ a group of six English farm workers who were put in jail for organizing a trade union (=organization that represents workers) in Tolpuddle, Dorset, in 1833–4.
