Syal, Meera Meera SyalSy·al, Mee·ra /ˈsaɪəl, ˈmɪərə/ (1961–) a British actress and writer whose family originally came from India. Her novels include Anita and Me (1996) which was made into a film in 2002. She also appeared in the popular UK television comedy programmes Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No 42.
